18 holes (Pete Dye) The most widely recognized of the (3) course is his original 1971 creation, the award winning “TEETH OF THE DOG” course which features (7) oceanfront holes with breathtaking sea views from every direction. For years, it has routinely been ranked the #1 course in the Caribbean on numerous lists of golf publications from around the globe. The scenery and backdrops on this (1) course alone are enough to fill 2 years of golf calendar photos. If you like seaside golf with pristine conditions, warm sunshine, the challenge of the ocean breezes and the crashing sea spray, look no further.
27 holes (Pete Dye) Opened in 2002, the three nine hole courses (Marina, Chavon & Lagos), showcase the dramatic elevation drops of 300 foot cliffs from the tee boxes to the Chavon River below. The steady wind and the scenic mountain views dare you to golf on the edge while processing the vistas of the resort marina, yacht club, and Caribbean Sea from high above. Behind the clubhouse, in full view from the finishing holes, golfers gawk at the replica 16th century Mediterranean village Altos de Chavón, precariously perched on the cliff-side next to the 19th hole.

When one is talking about the fantastic golf in the Dominican Republic, they will be speaking about the legendary golf course architect, Pete Dye, a member of The World Golf Hall of Fame. Although he sadly passed away in 2020, Pete Dye has left his mark on golf and the world of travel. His course designs have changed entire regions and the economies of nations. Nowhere is this more true than at Casa de Campo Resort in the town of La Romana, Dominican Republic where (3) of his courses are found at (1) very impressive resort.
18 holes (Pete Dye) After all the drama of “Dye Fore” and “Teeth of the Dog”, a golfer needs to catch their breath. The Links Course at Casa de Campo is the perfect solution. Styled after the traditional links courses typically found in the British Isles, this design winds through the villas & neighborhoods of the resorts’ interior with gentle hills and lake hazards around each turn. Golfers will appreciate the generous fairways and wide entrances to the greens while they peak in on some of the club residences and get to know the “club life”.
When it’s too cold for golf at home, the balmy, breezy shores of the Dominican Republic invite golfers to tee it up along the waters of the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. Smiling faces will greet you upon arrival to this island in the Greater Antilles where courtesy and hospitality are core values. Two modern international airports make it easy to get on the ground and to the tee box. The golf courses here are calendar worthy with ocean-side holes where blue waters crash against the rocks as you line up your putt. The Casa de Campo Resort is a favorite destination of ours in the D.R. that we highly recommend for the quality of the golf, accommodations, dining and resort amenities.
Located on the island’s south coast, the sprawling 7000 acres of the club and resort features (3) courses designed by World Golf Hall of Fame member Pete Dye. The most widely recognized is the award winning “TEETH OF THE DOG” course featuring (7) oceanfront holes and numerous breathtaking sea views. The “DYE FORE” course showcases 300 foot cliffs from the tee boxes to the Chavon River below and scenic hilltop views of the resort marina and yacht club. The “LINKS COURSE” winds through the villas & neighborhoods of the resorts’ interior with gentle hills and lake hazards around each turn. Casa de Campo is a beautifully maintained, secured property with a gorgeous beach, multiple pool areas, 7 excellent restaurants, numerous bars and lounges, a marina that can accommodate 250 foot boats, and a stunning replica of a Mediterranean village named Altos de Chavon. Casa de Campo beams with tropical palm trees, colorful flower gardens and sandy beaches. The property is so big that each room includes a four-person transportation cart so you can tour the resort on your own. The accommodations are comfortable, clean, well decorated and feature contemporary design elements like rich mahogany wood and native stone. You’ll want to stay longer and you won’t believe how many guests return year after year.
