Golf Courses

Cariari Country Club

The Cariari, one of the best course in Central America, is a beautiful place to play when arriving in Costa Rica, and with proper planning, a great way to end your stay as well. The Cariari was designed George Fazio and built by his nephew Tom Fazio, on land that was once a coffee plantation. This par 71 course measures 6,577 yards from the Championship tees, but plays much longer. The course is heavily wooded, the fairways are narrow with few fairway bunkers, and the greens lean toward the large side with sand traps throughout. The greens are Bermuda and roll fast and true. From a large Costa Rican producing coffee plantation to a beautiful and exciting golf course of international recognition, the exclusive Cariari Country Club is a PGA tournament tested course that will challenge all golfing skills, as well as providing an unforgettable and most enjoyable playing experience.

Valle del Sol Golf Club

Golf course architect Tracy May designed Valle del Sol Golf Course to play through scenic nature in wonderful weather for 18 holes of championship golf. Valle del Sol Golf Course plays 7,011 yards and begins on a par-4 365-yarder that doglegs left, requiring accuracy from the tee to avoid the bunker on the right, water on the side and out-of-bounds area 13 yards to the right of the path. The 18th hole, at 643 yards from the champion tee, is the golf course's monster, though you can make it in three shots if you avoid the out-of-bounds zone on the left and drive toward right-center on the fairway, then play left to the green, guarded by a big Higueron tree on thefront right; using the mounds' slope, you'll make the multilevel green.

The Four Seasons Golf Club at Peninsula Papagayo

Designed by Arnold Palmer, this 18-hole, par-72 championship course was designed with the resort golfer in mind and is ranked among the "Top 100 Courses Outside the United States" by Golf Digest.  Your experience begins atop one of Peninsula Papagayo’s highest plateaus, overlooking the jeweled waters of Bahía de Culebra. Spectacular water views await you at 14 of the 18 holes. The signature hole, number 6, El Bajo, features a dramatic 446-yard par-4 with a tee shot that plays 200 feet downhill to a receptive valley-shaped fairway. The green is perched out on a cliff with the ocean behind it, and your round will culminate on the scenic 18th green, with views of the Pacific Ocean and Bahía de Culebra.   Four Seasons Costa Rica Golf Club at Peninsula Papagayo is a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. Endorsed by the United States Golf Association, this program provides information and excellence to help golf courses preserve and enhance wildlife habitat and protect national resources. The course, not only set amid crystalline waters but also deep green forests, has labelled important trees, turning the cart path into a botanical garden. Hole to hole, the course offers a chance to see and appreciate a diversity of colourful plant, tree, bird and animal species. The congo (howler) and capuchin (white-faced) monkeys are among visitors' favorites.   The Resort offers a driving range, a sand-bunker practice area and putting and chipping greens.

Sightseeing

Poas Volcano:

Considered by most to be one of the most breathtaking sites in the entire country, the Poas Volcano sits high above 14,000 acres (5,666 ha) of various habitats and life zones which make up Poas Volcano National Park (Parque Nacional Volcan Poas). Rising up to 8,885 ft (2,708 m), Poas remains one of Costa Rica's largest and most active volcanoes. This fact alone is enough to attract thousands of visitors per year.

La Paz Waterfall Gardens :

La Paz Waterfall Gardens is the #1 Most Visited Privately Owned Ecological Attraction in Costa Rica featuring the best hiking near San José, the most famous waterfalls in Costa Rica, rescued wildlife preserve with over 100 species of animals and an environmental education program. When you think about Costa Rica, you probably imagine lush tropical rain forest, flowing white rivers, spectacular waterfalls, birds, butterflies, monkeys, sloths, snakes, frogs and jaguars. At La Paz Waterfall Gardens, you are guaranteed to see all that and more.

Arenal:

Positioned within Costa Rica’s fertile northern lowlands, the Arenal Volcano is an unavoidable presence while traveling within this part of the country. It is tall and imposing and has a reputation that precedes itself. Arenal’s perfectly symmetrical shape makes it a sightseer’s dream, while its abundance of outdoor activities makes it an easy place to check things off your “must-do in Costa Rica” list. Until 2010, it was Costa Rica’s most active volcano. In October 2010, Arenal entered into an indeterminate resting phase. For the time being, visitors will be unable to watch the much-loved explosions, although that could change within a matter of months or years. Travelers to Arenal will still enjoy its bountiful sights, sounds and activities— there are mountains to be hiked, lakes to be fished and rivers to be floated. As one of the country’s most scenic and accessible areas, it is a requisite stop on any tour of Costa Rica.

Tabacon Hot Springs:

There are a few experiences one shouldn't miss on a visit to Costa Rica and the hot springs at Tabacón Grand Spa and Thermal Resort is one of them. Although the admission price is high, the hot springs are kept exclusive for a more personal environment. Soak in the mineral waters of two rivers, which are heated naturally by the magma of the volcano and remain free of chemicals or other additives. Get lost within the thick vegetation that surrounds each pool (the Walking Palms, Birds of Paradise and Heliconias, among others). And enjoy a cocktail at the pool bar,  while admiring the perfect cone-shape of Arenal Volcano.

Join us for a GREAT golf trip!
