Across from Jeronimos Monastery, is the Discoveries Monument, built on the north bank of the Tagus River in 1960 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the death of Prince Henry the Navigator, and pays homage to the Portuguese explorers, , crusaders, monks, cartographers, and cosmographers of the past.

Belem Tower

18 holes (Cynthia Dye) The West Cliffs Golf Course at Praia D´el Rey is an 18-hole seaside links golf course on Portugal’s Silver Golf Coast, a little over an hour drive from Lisbon. Designed by the niece of famed course architect Pete Dye, the golf course has already achieved world-wide acclaim. It was elected the “World’s Best New Course” in 2017. The nature around The West Cliffs Golf Course is abundant and from every hole there will be stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. 

The 19th-century Romanticist architecture, historic estates and villas, gardens, and royal palaces and castles of Sintra make classify the town as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Pena National Palace and the Sintra National Palace welcome visitors to the former summer residences of the Portuguese royal family.

18 holes (Robert Trent Jones Sr.) The unique location on the Península de Troia, is quite place for a golf course.  Surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Sado River on the other, Troia Golf Course has fantastic sea views and panorama of the enigmatic Arrábida Mountain across the water. Troia was elected one of the best golf courses in world by Rolex in 2011. Golf World magazine qualified Troia Golf as the 32nd best golf course on Continental Europe, in 2011. Robert Trent Jones Sr. selected the third hole as one of the best he has ever designed.


Praia D'El Rey Golf Course

The medieval city of Obidos , a national monument is known as the "Wedding Present Town" because it was a gift from King Dinis to Queen Isabel on their wedding day in 1282.  Today, visitors can walk within the walls of the well-preserved medieval architecture and along the streets, and squares, and inside its castle encircled by a fortified wall.

Family owned and operated since the beginning of the 20th century, members of The Pereira de Fonseca Family personally welcome you to travel through 100 years of Portuguese wine making. On your visit you will walk through vineyards & the 19th century gardens by the family house. You’ll visit the old distillery where brandies and grappa were produced.  The final stop is a trip to the pressing-room with stone and wood manual winepresses dated from 1871, followed by the best part - a Tasting!

The Jeronimos Monastery is the most impressive symbol of Portugal's power and wealth during the Age of Discovery.  Built it in 1502 by King Manuel, it includes the Tomb of Vasco da Gama.

Built in 1515 as a fortress to guard the entrance to Lisbon's harbor, the Belem Tower was the starting point for the voyages of discovery.  For the sailors, it was the last sight of their homeland before reaching the sea.

Lisbon is the capital city of Portugal and the second-oldest capital city of Europe (after Athens!) The city is absolutely gorgeous with scenic vistas from every angle, saturated with rich history found everywhere from the roads to the marvelous architecture.  With Lisbon you get the best of both worlds (old and new) with the bonus of being in one of the least expensive capital cities in Europe.

Built in the 1840s, the most famous building in Sintra is Pena Palace.  A walk through the extravagant interior of the mock-medieval castle showcases the late Victorian and Edwardian furnishings, rich ornaments, paintings, and priceless porcelain preserved just as the royal family left them.
